This week Pastor Neli reminds us of the journey we're on as a community committed to honouring God and living out the Gospel. Despite life's challenges, we're encouraged to embrace joy in trials, knowing they produce endurance and growth. Through faith and action, we navigate the tension between grace and works, understanding that both are vital in our Christian walk. Remember, you're fearfully and wonderfully made, and your journey with God is a progression toward restoration and fruitfulness. So let's lean into God's Word, grow in character, and continue to shine His light in our world. You're not alone in this journey; we're in it together as a Christ-centered family. Stay encouraged, stay connected, and keep pressing forward in faith!
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. - James 1:2-4 (ESV)

Monday Apr 22, 2024
Join us at Brisbane Central as we continue with our current series, Gospel in Action. This week Pastor Nelly shares powerful insights, reminding us of the transformative nature of the gospel. We're crafted for a purpose, yet often, we seek fulfilment in fleeting things—property, provision, and partnerships—forgetting that true satisfaction lies in Christ alone. Let's not be like those who missed the banquet because they were full on worldly pursuits. Instead, let's hunger for the feast of God's presence, inviting others to taste and see His goodness. Together, let's embrace the gospel of restoration and be vessels of reconciliation wherever we go. You are made for worship, made for glory—so let's live out that purpose this week, shining brightly with the love of Christ!
Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. - James 5:7-9 (ESV)

Monday Apr 15, 2024
Join us at Brisbane Central as we continue with our current series, Gospel in Action. This week Pastor Neli challenges us to examine our hearts and our relationship with the world. It is important to live in alignment with God's purpose for our lives. From understanding the four facets of the Gospel – creation, fall, redemption, and restoration – we are empowered to live victoriously in Christ. Remember that God has called you for a purpose, and His power is available to you for every situation. Let's walk in the freedom and restoration that the Gospel offers, being vessels of His love and redemption wherever we go.
What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. - James 4:1-3 (ESV)

Allow the essence of the Gospel—grace, redemption, and restoration—to resonate deeply within you and recognise the profound impact of God's love in your life. Embrace the truth that your story is being rewritten by His grace. Let your life be a testament to the transformative power of the Gospel, as you embody grace and extend it to others.
What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. - James 2:14-17 (ESV)

Being then God's offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man. The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.” - Acts 17:29-31 (ESV)

Let's challenge ourselves to identify and dethrone the idols that subtly vie for our attention and allegiance, whether it be our careers, families, or societal expectations. Instead, let's offer our lives as living sacrifices, glorifying God in every decision, action, and thought. Remember, true fulfilment and joy are found not in the fleeting promises of this world, but in the eternal embrace of our loving Creator. So, as we navigate the week ahead, let's anchor ourselves in worship, trusting in God's faithfulness, and allowing His presence to permeate every aspect of our lives.
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall. Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident. One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. - Psalm 27:1-4 (ESV)

Your life carries a message, therefore it is vital to ensure that it aligns with the Gospel message of creation, redemption, and restoration. When we reflect the image of God, we convey His nature and message. This may attract opposition, but take heart, for we know that the Lord is with us, transforming lives through His presence within us.
For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed. And the word of the Lord was spreading throughout the whole region. - Acts 13:47-49 (ESV)

While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him. And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him. - Matthew 4:18-22 (ESV)
