A 'trig' is a Triangulation Pillar. It's the reason why we have always had good maps. First set up in 1935 by Ordnance Survey they are great points of reference. You can find them on OS maps and there are thousands. Forget Munro Bagging and get Trigging the Trigs.

I've not only walked virtually all of the hills of Arran but I've also run them. In my two books about the Arran hills I've written as if walking. However, I've also run them all. Check out the books 'Arran: Lesser Known Hill Routes' and 'Arran: Lochs and Lochans'. This podcast is essentially about the basics of running in the hills. Please also take cognisance of and listen to, my podcast on 'Safety in the hills'. Enjoy!
