The Low Standards and Pours Musicast
This Podcast is autonomously driven by a couple Detroit aged flavors...ALWAYS live and unrehearsed, never edited, unprofessional and sometimes controversial...most of the times we stink, literally. A passion for music is our soulful transportation...well, until the mothership finds us... So, if we sound mindfully interesting, get in, buckle up, it’s an unguarded moment.

Tonite was a great show, El Carpe and I broadcasted out of my garage, so we could enjoy a warm and Michigan picturesque spring evening. Cheezy I know. We had some Yuengling Black and Tans and a historic show it was...It was a time to just ketchup on what was happening in our lives and enjoy the music. In October we are attending The The & Johnny Marr / James concerts down at the Masonic Temple...so we thought it was appropriate to spin some tunes by them. We also talked about Minneapolis band The Replacements, Assemble Head and Sunburst Sound, New Candys, L.A Witch and a few others...Part 1 of 2

2. Quest for Fire: The Greatest Hits by God
3. Micheal Kiwanuka: Cold Little Heart
4. Amanaz: Khala my Friend
5. The The : Sweet Birds of Truth
6. Tom Waits: Make it Rain, One last look. "Bedlem and Squalor"
Along with some supporting groups: The Heavy, The Smiths, Pink Floyd references ....Just say, "Pour us another brother"

Tonight was all about moms... and a bunch of other stuff. Give us a listen as we discuss the importance of how we were raised... and well, we ran off course and rambled about all sorts of other stuff. Music was involved.
We played tunes by ...
Lynyard Skynard - Simple Man
Texas - Everyday Now
The Sundays - I Won
Crash Vegas - Down to the wire
Crash Vegas - more... from album Red Earth
Texas - Say What you want
James - Laid (acoustic)
James - Say Something
and a buncha Motown...
some PINK if ya like...
and a bunch of other songs... we had JLow join us briefly for some fun...
We got moody, musically and silly - it was fun for us... hopefully will be fun for you.
as always... Pour Me Another Brother.
Rock on.

It's all about Detroit Blues bands, bands from Detroit that don't play the blues, just bands, bands with colors in their name, El Carpe and his exotic dancing career....the Romantics, Toby Redd, Detroit Blues Band, The Sights, Six and the Sevens, White Stripes, Twistin' Tarantulas, Figures On a Beach, and probably some others... we were drinkin' so maybe we forgot some...
It's Low Standards and Pours. Just say, "Pour me another Brother".

Tonight's show....it's the billion streamed music podcast! All the songs from the 70's until today....what songs have been streamed the most? You'll find out tonight!! Well, some of them anyway, PART 2 coming up soon!! (maybe) Elvis? Taylor Swift? Beatles? AC/DC? Queen? Travis Kelce? Journey? Who are the bands that hold these spots? (inspired by Rick Beato Podcast)
Give us a listen!! Thanks to Scooter (Beans and Weenies Show) and Tommy B (Biz Meets Global) for listening in and participating, along with our thousands of listeners! You guys make our success, literally! And big love to my Co Host, El Carpe, you help make this show what it is today...it's never a dull moment dammit. (and you suck at liner notes)

One of our best shows so far! ... Thanks to Boogie and Fiddybritches we talked some new music, Kentucky and Indiana natives. (plus a Dos cameo)
It's the improptu craziness you expect from two amazing professionals like us... ok - yer right, but still - we had a blast talking about the Eclipse coming up, El Carpe drinking illegal beer in Ohio with his kids, music with Eclipse references, some useless El Crape trivial news - but we still made it fun for us.
We listened to some Andrew Bird-Take Courage
Wizard Ink-(still searching), Moby, Manfred Man, David Bowie, Sade, Pink Floyd and Fatboy Slim. (and of course The Hangrenades and 6&7's)
We had a blast making this show, hopefully you get some new music out of it.
It got more interesting (to us) as the show progressed - if you can survive the first 20mins - you'll be rewarded by the rest. (maybe)
NPR - Father Dad. (a short story narrated by NPR, written by a friend, definately worth a listen)

that's a link to a great story...
As always - be part of our mess, and say "Pour Me Another Brother"
(don't forget about 'Six and the Sevens', 'The Handgrenades' and others from the local Detroit music scene... good stuff)

Unprepared, unrehearsed, unfunny? - it's the Magic Bag Show... listen in to find out why. Eric and El Carpe make up from the severe vitriol of last week's brotherly lambasting of each other... we are good now.
Bands we talked about... The Verve Pipe, Speedy the Spider, Matthew Sweet, The Bangles... Eric gives us the Husker Du / Bob Mould / Sugar linkage... much more stuff too...
We connect with our listener and have some mixology chats - drinks baby !
there wes a ton of fun happening tonight, at least we thought we had fun...
We would like you to join us, comment and share and whatever else people to that boosts our show in the world of the All Powerful Algorithm.
As always... Pour Me another brother.

Our award-winning show received another "Dishonorable Mention" as one of Michigan's many music podcasts. Our listener from all over the planet has affored us the multi-single-dollar media system (with screwdriver) and our lack of support staff keeps us streamlined and able to provide you a superiourly mediocre show.
tonight's topics;
SHOEGAZE - the craze that lasted less than a year ... ish... talked about Slowdive, Lush, Swervedriver, Blur, Ride, Chapterhouse... and some others.
Eric's Stopify Collection - Scott Von Ryper, Khruangbn & Leon Bridges, Dandy Warhols & Debbie Harry, Jenny Lewis and Moon Duo.
We had fun poking fun at each other the way brothers who like each other but don't want others to know ...
Pour me another brother - cuz the mother ship is coming for El Carpe next week.

Quiz Night ! (maybe) - El Carpe gives Eric a test of his musical knowledge (holy carp, he passed).
Here's 6 bands that had amazing debut albums... go ahead Eric, who are they????
The Police - The The - Nine Inch Nails - Dire Straights - Heart - Dandy Warhols... and we chat about why each debut album was amazing.
Then there's "Eric Tunes" which all freakin' rock. We listen to stuff from bands like The Black Keys, The Inbreds, Cold Stare, Muddy Magnolias, and wait... Material Issue !?!?!
yeah, we had a blast together chatting about music we love - join us for a romp through some silly and if you really like the tunes we play, don't be shy and go ahead and pay real money for the music - find the band's website and get stuff directly from the artists (it's better that way)
We had a ton of fun together - we hope you enjoy our goofy and tell both of your friends about our silly show.
Join us weekly-ish - call in and be part of our show - be a part of the ever-increasing volume of our amazingness - and be a Low Standards "Lowie" - call in and say "pour me another brother".
